PIVOT!
A Public Service Announcement!
pivot
/ˈpɪvət/
to completely change the way in which one does something.
Whenever I hear the word pivot, that scene from Friends comes to mind. You know the one! Yes, that one where Ross buys a new couch and asks Rachel and Chandler to help him get it upstairs. They are holding a heavy couch and trying to heft it around a tight space while simultaneously climbing the stairs while Ross yells ‘PIVOT’ at the top of his lungs.
Yeah, I know it sounds confusing, but it’s one of those things you must see to understand. This is why I kindly included the link to the video for those who haven’t seen it, so you know my vision.
Recently, I found myself in the same spot Chandler stood, stuck between a couch and a stairway. I stood between the comfort and chaos of two decisions. I couldn't decide which road was the best to take. Should I continue down my current path or try a new route? Like the poet persona in Robert Frost’s poem "The Road Not Taken", I was at a crossroads, I wasn’t sure which path to take but I sure could not travel both.
All this hysterics to say we have moved house. Ladies and gentlemen of the press, we have moved from Vocal to Substack. I want you all to know that a lot of things were taken into consideration before I made this decision, I had a long pros and cons list going.
I know people were already getting familiar with me on Vocal, but I could not stay in a place that was no longer serving me just because people were used to me being there. (I will leave you to speculate about all the reasons it was not serving me 🌚🙃) You can leave your speculations in the comments. We all need to rebrand sometimes so consider this my first rebrand of many.
So instead of an apology, this is an appreciation message. A big thank you to everyone who has read, liked, shared, commented and encouraged my writing. I am very grateful and hope you continue with me on this journey. Thank you for everything! I love you! And Welcome!
Welcome to my personal Substack! Come in, get comfy, here's a snack and some juice. Now that you're here, why not read a story or ten?! We're all friends here, I won't judge you. Don’t forget to hit the subscribe button before you leave.

The moment I saw PIVOT I was like she wants to talk about FRIENDS lol. Thank you for writing good stories
I too pivoted from Vocal to Substack despite the fact I made a lottta money on Vocal. Sometimes, a platform doesn't feel right or serve us in the way we need it to. I hope you find what you're looking for here on Substack. :)
