The Lonely Ranger
For Those Who Like To Be Alone
All on my lonesome,
On top my horse
On top my mountain
It photographs beautifully
But wrecks the mind
•
“I like being alone,”
She says
“I like my own company,”
She excuses
•
“Who hurt you?”
He asked softly.
His face creased in sympathy.
•
Because he knew, they all knew,
Nobody really likes being alone all the time.
•
Lone wolf,
Howling at the moon
But she was hiding
Hiding away the secret pains and hurts
•
Who let you down?
Who are you hiding from?
Why are you running away?
•
Don't stay in the dark too long
The shadows will swallow you whole
Come into the light
